Discover Sea Life Park

60 Years of Sea Life Park

Sea Life Park Hawai‘i first opened on the shores of Waimānalo in 1964, and has since provided guests from across the local community and around the world with the experience of seeing daily marine conservation work firsthand. It is not only one of the state's greatest attractions, but a community partner and resource for immersive learning about preserving our precious ocean environments and marine life.

Hawai'i Focused Exhibits

Guests are invited to learn about the creatures in and around the islands with Hawaiʻi-focused exhibits from the native Honu (Hawaiian green sea turtle) and vibrant reef fish to the Hawaiian monk seal. The park is built upon an intricate, specialized, flow-through water system, which draws from the ocean through seawater wells that allow seawater to be filtered through naturally occurring lava rock and sand before entering our animal habitats. The system provides a constant source of fresh seawater to each exhibit, mimicking each species’ natural environment.
